Personality: Ever since his first appearance, Itachi had always been mysterious, and had acted as though he was hiding his true self. While flashbacks to his past showed that he was a compassionate brother and person, his later acts and claims made it seem that this was mostly just an act. But, surprisingly, he genuinely was the compassionate brother he had once claimed to be, although he hid this from the rest of the Akatsuki to protect Sasuke.
As a member of Akatsuki, he possessed incredible self-control of his emotions. He constantly displayed an emotionless personality. He only showed surprise when opponents proved more powerful or skilled than he had expected, and even then he didn't lose his composure. He did not possess any arrogance, and fully justified any statements he made about his power, even complimenting his opponents at times on their abilities.
In addition to being an extremely powerful ninja, Itachi had equally impressive intelligence, and was shown to be very wise. He was exceedingly sharp and observant to any situation at hand, as he was rarely surprised or caught off guard. He also displayed great intuition, as he was almost never deceived and even then almost instantly realized the truth. Despite his status as a wanted criminal, and having murdered a significant portion of his family, Itachi took no enjoyment in violence or combat, instead preferring to avoid battle or, if this was not possible, end it as quickly as he could.
Itachi's only initial interest was in Akatsuki's goals, and his only loyalties appeared to be to the organization and its members, seeming to put the organization's success and secrecy before everything else.[5] As such, Itachi got along with his partner, Kisame, much better than most other Akatsuki members did with their own partners. Kisame appeared to have a deep loyalty to Itachi, immediately doing as he instructed and constantly looking out for his well-being. Itachi treated all of his fellow Akatsuki members to this same, more respectful personality, although his courtesy was rarely returned by the other members.
However, when he was in a genjutsu duel during his fight with Sasuke, he cruelly claimed he had only let Sasuke live so that he could take Sasuke's eyes and obtain his own Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, after which he then claimed the Uchiha clan had been nothing but tainted and evil, since many members would kill their friends to gain the Mangekyō Sharingan, and would take another Uchiha's eyes to make its power permanent. Once the genjutsu was released, he called it his true self, implying his calm, emotionless personality was also a facade. This persona was later revealed to be only an act to ensure that he would die by Sasuke's hands, his love for his younger brother being the fundamental aspect of his personality.
In the end, Itachi put all of his faith in Naruto, who he notes as the person most determined to save and protect Sasuke. After hearing Naruto's answer to keep protecting Sasuke and everyone in Konoha, Itachi gave him some of his power. He was very grateful towards Naruto's determination to save Sasuke, and was smiling after hearing Naruto's response. Itachi even trusted him enough to bring Sasuke back to the light.
Annoyances: Itachi, though he often hides it, is annoyed by people who accept things at face value and never look into things when their is a hidden or deeper meaning, people who immediately think of themselves as better then another person despite them not knowing anything about that person and definitely Orochimaru.
Fears: Itachi's fears are unknown to all except for him. Some people speculate he fears going blind or that he fears Sasuke dieing before he is able to exact the revenge he has always desired to reap upon him.

Back Ground: Itachi was born into the Uchiha clan and was praised by all as the best of his generation - a genius above all others. Even by the standards of the battle-adept Uchiha clan, Itachi's prowess far outshone them. However, not even his family, friends, or teachers could understand him. When he was only 4, Itachi had already witnessed countless lives lost due to the Third Great Shinobi World War, which emotionally traumatized him and turned him into a pacifist. At age 7, he graduated from the Ninja Academy at the top of his class after only one year, mastered the Sharingan at age 8, passed the Chūnin Exams at age 10, and became an ANBU Captain at age 13. According to Madara Uchiha, Itachi also had a lover, whom he killed during the Uchiha clan massacre.[4]
He was praised highly by his father, who saw the family's future in Itachi, hence neglecting his other son - Itachi's younger brother, Sasuke. However, during this time Itachi showed great affection towards his little brother, Sasuke, and even encouraged his father to come to the Academy when Sasuke was enrolled, something their dad had otherwise forgotten, by saying that he would not go to an important mission that would establish Itachi a place in the ANBU ranks, otherwise.
When the Uchiha began planning to overthrow Konoha, Itachi, as an ANBU, was tasked with spying on the village. Knowing that a coup d'etat would only lead to another Ninja War, Itachi began spying on the Uchiha instead, passing on information to the Third Hokage and the other Konoha elders. After this he began to act strangely, not attending the clan meetings, speaking out against the clan, and becoming the prime suspect for the murder of his best friend, Shisui Uchiha. The clan lost hope in Itachi, and his father began shifting his focus to Sasuke instead. Meanwhile, the Third's attempts to negotiate a bloodless end to hostilities between the two parties were proving ineffective, so, against the Third's wishes, Danzō and the Konoha Council ordered Itachi to wipe out the Uchiha.
Before the fateful night arrived, Itachi discovered the existence of Madara Uchiha, who was attempting to rekindle the flames of war in Konoha. In return for not attacking Konoha, Itachi offered to help Madara claim vengeance against the Uchiha for turning their backs on him decades earlier. Madara agreed. Itachi slaughtered his entire clan overnight, sparing only Sasuke. Sasuke's life was worth more than the village to Itachi, and he could not follow through with the orders to kill him as well. Instead, he made himself out as a villain, who had killed their innocent family only to test his abilities. By doing so, he wanted Sasuke to take vengeance on him and become a hero to Konoha, thus redeeming the Uchiha name. He tortured Sasuke with his Mangekyō Sharingan, and encouraged him to become strong enough to kill him and avenge their family. Hoping that his beloved little brother would someday be powerful enough to kill him, Itachi left the village as a traitor.
Knowing that Konoha would still want to eliminate Sasuke, Itachi pleaded with the Third Hokage to keep Sasuke safe. He also threatened Danzō to not harm Sasuke or risk him revealing everything he knew about Konoha's secrets to enemy countries. Sasuke's safety was therefore secured, and Itachi returned to his original plan of becoming infamous for his slaughter of the Uchiha.
Itachi joined Akatsuki in order to keep an eye on the organization, along with Madara Uchiha, in case either ever acted against Konoha, all the while planning for his death at Sasuke's hands. While a member of Akatsuki, Itachi was approached by Orochimaru, who tried to steal his body to gain the Sharingan. Itachi trapped him in a genjutsu and severed his left hand as punishment, forcing Orochimaru to flee the organization. Sometime after joining Akatsuki, Itachi later helped recruit Deidara, Orochimaru's replacement, by beating him in battle, after which Deidara swore vengeance against Itachi.

Basic Appearance: Despite his status as an infamous shinobi, his appearance was not the most intimidating, apart from the intensity of his eyes. While living in Konoha, he would regularly have a gentle and caring look in his eyes, especially directed towards his younger brother. After joining Akatsuki, he would regularly have a stern look to them. He was a fairly tall shinobi, whose basic appearance was very much like the rest of his clan.
He, like all members of his clan, possessed dark grey eyes, and also had black hair that hung near his cheeks to frame his face. He also had the addition of a long ponytail in the back of his hair (which he obscured with his Akatsuki cloak after joining the organization). Being brothers, Itachi and Sasuke had a similar appearance, but with subtle differences. Itachi's hair color appeared slightly duller and with a softer flow to it, without the spiky style at the back. His skin was also slightly darker. Itachi's most distinguishing characteristics were the long pronounced creases under his eyes.
When he lived in Konoha, his casual clothes would consist of a black shirt with a large Uchiha clan symbol on the back of it, and black pants with a weapons pouch strapped to them. When on duty, he would wear the traditional ANBU uniform, although he was never shown wearing a mask. As a member of Akatsuki, he wore the traditional Akatsuki cloak, and usually kept the center of it buttoned down. After his cloak was incinerated by Sasuke's Kirin during their fight in Part II, it was revealed that he still wore his casual clothes underneath it. Like almost all members of Akatsuki, he wore the headband of his home village, Konoha, with a line gouged through it, to symbolize his broken ties with the village (although, secretly, he was actually still loyal to his village). On his right ring finger is his Akatsuki ring, which bears the kanji for Vermilion (朱, shu).

Clothing: Itachi wears an Akatsuki like the rest of the Akatsuki members, sometimes chooses to wear his straw hat that came with his cloak, he wears his Akatsuki ring that bears the kanji for Vermillion. RP Sample:Itachi Uchiha, the proclaimed Ultimate Uchiha Prodigy, slowly and cautiously walked through the the forest of Fire Country. He wore his straw hat and Akatsuki cloak, which helped him keep most of his face hidden from any people that happen to pass by him. However, it didn't guarantee much since he still wore his Akatsuki cloak. His face, though unseen, was set in it's usual, emotionless expression. His eyes, which were in the form of a three-tomoed Sharingan, scanned the area around him, making sure to examine everything around in him to make sure there were no hidden shinobi. He was not under any orders to go to Konoha for anything. Truth to be told, he came to examine his younger brother Sasuke from afar to see how far he has progressed on the path of vengeance. Although his facial expression and eyes didn't reveal it, he had hope deep in his mind, heart and soul that Sasuke has vastly improved. Hopefully, his little brother was still following the advice he told him on that fateful day. If not, Itachi would have to re-convince him.
Itachi stopped in his tracks immediately when a voice called out to him. Being calm, like usual, he turned to face the direction the voice came from. Standing a few meters away from him was a Chuunin who was coming back to Konoha to report on the success of his mission. "What do you want Akatsuki?" the Chuunin growled angrily until he looked into the Sharingan eyes of the famous S-Class Criminal. Seeing the Sharingan eyes, he paled noticeably, knowing that since there were only two Uchiha left and Sasuke wasn't an Akatsuki member and still a loyal, Konoha shinobi, that left him with one other famous Uchiha. He realized then and there that he was staring into the eyes of none other then Itachi Uchiha, the man who was believed to have SINGLE-handedly murdered the other Uchiha except for his own brother Sasuke. However, the Chuunin made a very grave mistake by looking into Itachi's eyes. To the shinobi that knew of Itachi and his prowess, they knew that looking into his eyes was a fatal mistake as because he was a master of illusions. Suddenly, Itachi spoke words but they would be one of the last things the Chuunin would ever hear. "Sharingan: Negative Confusion" he said as his three-tomoed Sharingan spun rapidly, binding the Chuunin in Confusion. Without missing a beat, Itachi quickly dispatched the Chuunin by stabbing a kunai into his heart. "...Your mistake cost you your life. Any decent shinobi should know that looking into the eyes of any Uchiha is a very grave mistake" Itachi said coldly as he removed the kunai from the Chuunin's heart, which made the Chuunin's dead body drop to the ground. He then wiped the blood off of his kunai with the right sleeve of the Chuunin's shirt. Then, Itachi took the Chuunin's body and hid it in a nearby tree. Once the dead Chuunin was hidden, Itachi quickly and silently made his way to Konoha.

The fireball ignites externally (as evidenced by Kakashi Hatake's ability to use the jutsu without burning his mask). According to Kakashi Hatake (in the anime Part II), the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique was originaly created by the Uchiha clan, becoming one of their favorite moves with which they became very adept with. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original. Description: This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and their intended destination. Shisui Uchiha was feared as "Shisui of the Body Flicker" (瞬身のシスイ, Shunshin no Shisui), likely referring to this technique. The Body Flicker Technique has various variations among the different hidden villages, all of which involve some extra element aside from the movement itself. The extra element is usually some sort of substance used to distract the opponent, such as leaves or sand. Gaara, for instance, uses the Sand Body Flicker, which uses sand to cover his movements. Other varieties include the Mist Body Flicker, Water Body Flicker, and Leaf Body Flicker.

The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. It has also been shown that one can use their chakra to "skate" across the water surface, instead of walking or running. Description: Named after the Shinto Sun Goddess, Amaterasu is the highest level Fire Release technique, as well as one of the most powerful ninjutsu, in existence. It is said to represent the "Material World and Light" (物質界と光, Busshitsukai to Hikari), the antipode to Tsukuyomi, a genjutsu of similar power, and and is a fellow Mangekyō Sharingan dōjutsu, said to represent the "Spiritual World and Darkness" (精神界と闇, Seishinkai to Yami). Itachi Uchiha was the first person to be shown to be able to use Amaterasu. He later gave the power to Sasuke Uchiha. The jet-black flames of the Amaterasu are said to be as hot as the sun. The flames are extremely powerful, capable of burning through Jiraiya's Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind, which Jiraiya stated to be fire resistant. Not surprisingly, it appears to use a large amount of chakra. Though said in the data book to burn everything reflected on its retina, Zetsu also commented that the Amaterasu burned everything within Itachi's wide field of vision to cinders with an unholy black flame, to the degree of being able to burn an entire forest or village with it. It can even smother regular flames easily. Wherever the user focuses his eye, the flames will appear at the exact spot without moving, making it unavoidable as long as the user keeps his vision trained on the target. The flames are said to burn for seven days and seven nights, and cannot be extinguished with water or any other normal methods. However, it can be extinguished by the user's alternate eye. Jiraiya managed to seal some Amaterasu flames with Fire Sealing Method. During the battle between Itachi and Sasuke, after Sasuke escaped Tsukuyomi, all genjutsu between the brothers became pointless. Itachi was forced to shift from his most powerful genjutsu to his most powerful ninjutsu. As opposed to Tsukuyomi, which originated in Itachi's left eye, the Amaterasu came from his right eye. Although not shown in its entirety when used while escaping Jiraiya, in the battle with Sasuke, Itachi's eyes were strained to the point that he drew tears of blood while executing Amaterasu. When Sasuke met Madara Uchiha, Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan automatically used Amaterasu. Madara later explained that Itachi had implanted Amaterasu in Sasuke's eye to detonate upon seeing Madara's Sharingan. Sasuke used his own Amaterasu whilst fighting Kirābī, but used his left eye as opposed to Itachi, who had used his right. Like Itachi's, his eyes began to bleed as well. After Karin was accidentally hit with Amaterasu, Sasuke used his right eye to suppress the flames, and did the same with Kirābī.

Description: Susanoo is a technique that creates a spiritual being resembling a yamabushi. It wields the sacred Yata no Kagami, a mirror that's considered one of the three sacred treasures capable of reflecting all attacks, as a shield in its left hand. In its right, the legendary Totsuka no Tsurugi, also known as the Sakenagi Longsword, is held. The Totsuka no Tsurugi, commonly sheathed in a sake jar held by a third hand growing from Susanoo's right forearm, is an ethereal weapon with an enchanted blade capable of sealing anything it pierces in an eternal dream-like illusion, and is described as the perfect counter to Orochimaru's Kusanagi Sword. Like the Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi, Susanoo is an ability of the Mangekyo Sharingan. Zetsu said that Susanoo's Totsuka Sword combined with the Yata mirror essentially makes Itachi invincible. The Sword itself can be presumed as an extension added to the technique as Zetsu mentioned that "Where ever he (Orochimaru) searched he could never find it". It is also possible the Mirror can be another extension, as Zetsu also mentioned that it is another legendary item, on par with the Sword. Susanoo has been labeled as the "Raging God of Battle".
27. Name: Transcription Seal - Amaterasu

Description: This is a technique that seals the technique Amaterasu within the Sharingan of another person. After being sealed within the person it is involuntarily activated when certain conditions are met. Itachi used this technique on his brother Sasuke Uchiha as a fail safe against Madara Uchiha should the two ever meet. Upon seeing Madara's Sharingan, Sasuke's eye took the form of Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan and used Amaterasu on Madara, though it did not succeed in killing him.

Description: Named after the Shinto Moon god, Tsukuyomi is one of the most powerful genjutsu in existence. It is unique to the Uchiha clan and only those with the Mangekyo Sharingan can perform it. It is said to represent the "Spiritual World and Darkness" (精神界と闇, Seishinkai to Yami), the antipode to Amaterasu, a ninjutsu of similar power and fellow Mangekyō Sharingan dōjutsu, said to represent the "Material World and Light" (物質界と光, Busshitsukai to Hikari). Tsukuyomi requires eye contact to be performed. When executed, the jutsu traps the target in an illusionary world that is completely controlled by the user. While it only takes a few seconds to complete in the real world, the user can make it seem as if days have passed for the target. Depending on the user's whim, they can either torture their target for days on end, or make them relive a traumatic event over and over. When the jutsu ends the resultant psychological trauma will render the target unable to fight for a while, and possibly suffer a complete mental breakdown. An example of this is Kakashi Hatake, who had to be hospitalized for quite some time after Itachi performed the Tsukuyomi on him. A common feature of illusions created by Tsukuyomi is a red moon that casts a red light throughout the illusion, giving the background a blood-red appearance while the figures within the illusion are in a grayscale, inverted color. This feature is not present when Itachi uses Tsukuyomi against Sasuke Uchiha in Part II. Such a powerful technique is not without its disadvantages, however. Due to of the complexity of the illusion and the quickness with which it is executed, an enormous amount of chakra is necessary to perform it. Though Kakashi says that Tsukuyomi cannot be escaped, Sasuke has been able to break out of Tsukuyomi by using his own Sharingan.

Description: This technique is a variation of the Tsukuyomi. The user transforms the Tsukuyomi into a barrier that slows the opponent down. This does not happen physically but rather makes the opponent think they are being held back by a barrier.

Description: Itachi traps the enemy in a Tsukuyomi illusion, causing them to see the ground beneath their feet break open, plummeting them into a huge chasm. The torment ends (and apparently their life) when a column of fire slams them into the pit.

Description: This unknown genjutsu can trap a victim in an illusion with no eye contact, similar to Ephemeral. The genjutsu traps the victim in a torrent of crows, leaving them at the user's mercy.

Description: Itachi uses his Mangekyō Sharingan on the opponent to trap them inside the Tsukuyomi, then comes walking up behind the opponent and stabs them in the back. Left open to attack, Kisame comes up from the water below to finish the foe with a slash from his Samehada.

Description: A water clone of Itachi lifts up the opponent. Kisame then slices through the water clone (causing it to turn back into water) and launches the opponent up with his Samehada. Then, Kisame turns the water from the clone into a Water Release: Water Shark Missile Technique which hits the opponent, causing them to plummet to the ground where Itachi waits and uses Amaterasu on them.
